Center's Mobile Dental Program Sets Up at the Iowa Nation in Perkins, OK
The Oklahoma City Area Dental Clinical & Preventive Support Center enjoyed another successful outing with its mobile dental program. From October 6th through the 8th, the Dental Support Center provided a wide array of preventative, routine and even some complex dental services to the Iowa Nation in Perkins, Oklahoma. Everything from simple brushing instructions to surgical extractions of teeth were performed during the 3 day event. Dr. Joy Carr, Director of medical services at the Perkins Family Clinic used the three day event not only to serve the members of her community but also advertise the opening of the Perkins Family Clinic’s new dental clinic opening at the end of this month.
Volunteer
dentists, hygienists, assistants and administrators all provided valuable
support in order to make this event successful.

Charles Brucklier, Director of the Dental Support Center, said the program provided over $9000 of free dental care in just three days. Charles stated that “the patients receiving the dental services here on the mobile dental van will also have the opportunity to seek additional dental services and follow up treatment once the Perkins Family Dental Clinic opens this month. This is always reassuring to know, since most of the times after treating patients on the mobile dental van the patients would need to wait until we come back again for any type of follow up treatment. To know that the patients, after being treated on the van, can come back to an established dentist and dental facility where they can then complete their treatment is a great feeling.”
The Dental Support Center would like to thank the Iowa Nation and all of the employees at the Perkins family Clinic for all the help and support they gave during the event. A special thanks goes out to Nikki Good for all the help in planning and scheduling of patients.
